Unique Painted Furniture by Moooi

The collection by Moooi is distinguished by the unusual mixture of several styles. On the one hand, it will add some vintage style to your room due to the use of traditional Frankish furniture elements and medieval decor. But on the other hand on closer examination the filigree patterns have turned into a “mess” of drawings, among which the skulls, flowers, feathers, crosses, nails, and other characters can be distinguished. Designers dedicate this collection to the philosophical idea about a dual nature of man. The painted furniture, designed by Studio Job, includes wardrobe, chest and grandfather clock. Each piece, made of solid pine stained white and painted, have a unique, hand-made quality.

House Opened to Sunlight, Ventilation and Views of Tree Canopies: Christopher Polly Architect

This Cottage called Elliot Ripper House was rebuilt from the old house. The architects, Christopher Polly Architect, did their best to fit the house into the site, make it cozy and friendly. One side of the house almost abuts upon the high wall; this inconvenience was perfectly turned into a favorable circumstance by giving a certain sense of protection and an absolute openness in the opposite direction. On the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen, dining room and living room. Visually the rooms in this area are connected and united under the upper floor’s ceiling. Bathroom, laundry and everything else, that requires the service lines, are located in the center of the house on both floors. The bedrooms are located on the second floor. Particular attention is drawn to the panoramic windows, which form a completely open outdoor space that looks extremely attractive and provides good ventilation in the hot Australian climate.

LightSpace with a Starry Sky by Jade Doel

New Zealand designer Jade Doel has provided an opportunity for us to enjoy the starry sky while dining. LightSpace is a disc-shaped pendant light that supports many modes, the source of which are two independent LED lamps. The body is made of American Ash and consists of five segments, soft lighting of which makes the space “more intimate, more exciting and more intriguing.” Doel’s creation has not only functional aims but also the rational justification. Doel says that such LightSpace can solve the issues surrounding the lack of “perception of dinner as ‘family time’”, the reasons of which he sees in increasing adoption of open plan interiors.
