9 Hours Capsule Hotel in Kyoto by Design Studio S

Capsule is a popular type of hotels in Japan and nowhere else, it’s kind of a Japanese national invention that attracts quite a lot of tourists who want to get some extraordinary experience. But still such places are mostly inhabited by businessmen, who were too late for the last train and have no other way to get back home. All of such hotels are usually located near the train stations or in the entertainment area. The idea of capsule hotels is that you rent a small 1m-1.5m-2m capsule where you can sleep or read the book. It’s perfect if you need to simply sleep over and don’t want to pay for the ordinary hotel room.

9 Hours is one of the most beautiful capsule hotel – since it’s opening in December 2009 the Design Studio S has been awarded many times for the best design for Asia. We would give them a separate Home Reviews award for the outstanding info graphics.  The interior of this building resembles the images imposed by many movies about the future. It’s extremely strict and sober, consisting only of the basic shapes and colors.

The Unique House in Japan by Suppose Design Office

Could you imagine your own town in the house? This unique idea was realized by Suppose design office in Buzen, Japan. Architects offered to turn links and routes between rooms into streets and squares. It creates a magnificent effect changing the habitual relationships inside-outside. The house composed of individual cubes for the kitchen, bathroom, living rooms and bedroom. But the most unusual look was achieved using a glass roof. So you can see stars at night and sunlight during the day. Children will be happy to walk and play in the house like this. To my mind this house is cool and has its originality of design.

3S Villa by LOVE Architecture

It’s popular to build houses close to nature. You can relax and have a rest from city bustle. But it doesn’t mean that house will be old-fashionable. Let us describe unique modern 3 S Villa by Love Architecture. It is located on a picturesque property on the fringes of Graz Geidorf in Austria. The architects describe the house as, “Simple yet complex; clear but also playful; light and optimistic; small yet also big. A place that is architecturally distinct, yet eminently livable; unconventional and unique, and still functional for everyday living.” The unusual roof reminds of hill and two wooden terraces create an effect of unity with nature. To my mind this contemporary 3 S Villa is wonderful place for rest and live.

Light Harbour House by Sam Crawford Architects

This beautiful house by Sam Crawford Architects was designed for young family. It combines a lot of white color and wood, which makes home contemporary, elegant, warm and very cozy. The homeowners wanted to have enough sunlight and Crawford realized clients’ wish in a reality using panoramic windows in the interior. There are two stories in the house. In the ground floor dining-room, kitchen, living and sitting areas are situated. On the higher level there are private rooms. Partially covered veranda and open terrace gives a panoramic view of the Sydney Harbor. So this house is both modern in style and comfortable for family life.

Mural Azur Fresh Interior Theme by Jorge Aguilar

Jorge Aguilar is a very talented artist that seems to enjoy experimenting very much. His web site here has a large set of mind blowing art pieces but what interests us the most is this great project, when he had a hand in interior decorating. Considering how talented Jorge as an artist, it’s not surprising how stylish and holistic his interior is. We only see one wall with the shelves and couches here that complement each other very well, but this theme could easily be extrapolated and build up to a very fresh and modern residence design. Of course the rest of the interior would have to be less detailed to avoid driving it’s inhabitants crazy by the riot of colors.

Then the stove is suitable for people with different living spaces who don’t want to sacrifice their taste for design. On the shelves you can keep your firewood, dishes, books or whatever you want. Now this item is especially actual, because it’s winter outside. It’s time when people please to sit around the stove and enjoy the warmth.
