Common rocking chair is very useful for a comfortable rest and relaxing. Swiss company Micasa LAB have designed a rocking chair with an additional useful function - it is a power generating. Rocking can be a good source of energy, so Micasa LAB designers have integrated into chair a dock and speakers to convert rocking into energy. Moreover for ease of handling the "iRock" has been fitted with an iPad holder and built-in speakers. So it is possible to use the communication technologies together with a comfortable pastime. All Apple devices can be charged with the iRock whilst Android devices will be included to the list of devises in future.

The products of this Swedish company Lindstén Form Studio influence people's state of mind and make their environment more joyful and beautiful. The Pixel Table is one of their genius brainchildren. Pixels, i.e. cubes, are organized in the form of table or a desk, but the main advantage of it is that the user creates the tabletop himself. One day the gracious table can be configured into a coffee table or a work station depending on the situation and desires. Just like in Lego we can choose to construct the proposed final structure or to design your own imaginary structure the Pixel Table can be built similarly.

Let's remember about an important part of our lives it is our physical activity and sport. Jaigu, Mathilde de Colnet and Marion Veauvy are the group of designers that have designed a Jopple stool which is actually the set of furniture items together with sports equipment. The Jopple stool is a small and soft pouffe with a help of which user can do the exercises for abdominal muscles, back muscles and legs. This small stool together with exercise mats (cushions) are embed into a wooden frame with curved shape. The resulting tight stool forces the user to maintain balance while sitting and also can be used just as a real pouffe. Jopple stool is good not only for fitness clubs but also for home use.

His “Lovely chair set” begins its history since 2003 when he was awarded for Lovely chair. Now he has presented the set of similar chairs, among them are Lovely chair bar-stool and already known Lovely chair. The design of the chair is rather simple: steel frame upholstered with a fabric. But the appearance of it attracts and amazes with its noble view, like a throne the lovely chair elevates any room making it a palace.

Italian company Donati has developed a unique product - a perfect solution for any customer. They offer a modular system "Unica" to create an original chair. The main advantage is that the chair can have a personalized decorative cut design due to the use of die-casted aluminum shell. But it is also very important that the chair can be assembled in different ways using the wide range of different bases (legs, wheels, rotating or non-rotating, barstool, bench-style bases, in white, wood or steel) and backrests. Now we can see that the epoch of new furniture has come when the clients themselves can construct the furniture for their needs and to their tastes.

This creative Elavate seating was designed by Marc Venot (France). At first it was a task from FLOWN to work on plane panel with windows which are used to cover the inside of the plane. Suddenly the idea was born to use this panel to create a new product. Because the most obvious thing is to sit next to the panel, it was decided to use it for seating. The design of the seat offers different compositions: it can be just single easy chair or sofa, or even composition for airport hall. The composition is made of contrast materials to show the difference between inside and outside atmosphere: the strong and smooth panel on the one hand and soft, warm sofa – on the other.

Some of our articles were already devoted and more than one of them will be devoted to the theme of benches because of the constant topicality. Bench is a decoration of the streets and parks, it is our compliant element of relaxation in our usual walks and the most important thing is that the bench is a beginning of every relationship. This time we want to tell about very interesting and creative park benches designed by Jeppe Hein (Denmark). The title of this group of benches is “Modified Social Benches”. The main idea was to alter the common form of the benches "to make the act of sitting on them a conscious physical endeavour". In other words these extraordinary modifications call for activity rather than for rest and solitude making ordinary piece of furniture be functional. Once upon a time residents of one small apartment located in the building complex in Menuires (France) have decided to renovate their living space. The designers’ task was almost impossible: they had to maximize the space without modifying the supporting framework of the structure, to make two bathrooms instead of existing one and to place eight beds within the apartments 55m2 giving opportunity of separate access for each. It was a corner apartment with views in three cardinal directions therefore another task was to retain the possibility to enjoy the panoramas. The architects (h20 Architectes) have made the best decision: to make the wooden ‘furniture-wall’ inside the apartment. It solves the main problem – a lack of space, and serves an additional function of opening up the panoramic views in all directions. This furniture-wall provides access to all items of the construction. There are beds, storage, reading corner attached to a window, kitchen and bathroom. Sleeping nooks are divided with curtains and supplied with reading lamps. The whole furniture-wall is made of different types of high quality woods.
