Solitary House in the Woods by Parque Humano

A beautiful house designed by the architectural studio Parque Humano is located in Valle de Bravo, Estado de Mexico, Mexico, weather ranges from 33°C to -2°C. It faces Avandaro Lake and the protected forest area of Cerro Gordo. The weather and climatic conditions in this area are very complex. Its main feature is maximal integration with the surrounding nature and the area in which it is situated. The concept was to create the house the interior and exterior design of which would organically mix with the forest showing the respect to the nature and support the connection between it and the human. The house consists of living room, dining room, kitchen, multipurpose room, and 2 bedrooms. The material used in the exterior are specially made tile and glass limiting the boundaries between in and out, while the interior is finished with wood and plaster. Well done!

Minimalist Pittman Dowell Residence by Michael Maltzan Architecture

This project located 15 miles north of Los Angeles at the edge of Angeles forest got its name after two artists who became its inhabitants. The residence looks very contemporary and hi-tech. The unusual polygonal structure ends up having no doors to delimitate the space. The concept was to create a new relationship between building and landscape that is more urban and contained. A heptagonal structure of the dwelling has purity which is confounded by a series of intersecting diagonal slices though space. White colour dominates the interior design making the space light and airy. It looks both minimalist and elegant. For more information click Michael Maltzan.

Origami-house in Japan by Suppose Design Office

This small house in Nagoya, Japan was designed by Suppose Design Office in the style of Japanese minimalism. It is the mix of a flower shop, an art gallery and living quarters. The house denies any boundaries between these spaces. Simple white façade is opened to the street and the yard at the ground floor, while the living space placed at the upper levels is entirely isolated from the city noise opening with the glass walls from the opposite side. The side facades as opposed to the main flat one resemble the paper bends of origami. The ceilings are also corrugated at the two lower levels.

House transformation by Clavienrossier Architects

This spacious family house is the result of reconstruction or, more precisely, the complete transformation of previously existing building in Switzerland. Most part of the old building was destroyed; only a few walls, which fit well with the concept of a new project, as well as the basement have been preserved in excellent condition. A result of reconstruction old triangular roof was removed, at a place that a second floor with a flat concrete roof was built. The most part of the walls were replaced by a new concrete with a larger windows, hich made the interior lighter and provide beautiful overviews. Glass and Concrete Villa T in Sicily by Architrend Architecture

Glass and concrete are the main materials used by Architrend Architecture during the construction of this extraordinary house with its impressive exterior and nontraditional form. The project was called Villa T and realized in Sicily. The villa has tree levels, and its major advantage is the fact that it is located in the open field on a small hill and offers beautiful views. The relationship with the context and the sequence of the three stacked floors relies on a sort of continuous architectural ribbon that reinterprets the flavor of the Mediterranean home, developing, bending to form rooms and the roof, outdoor zones raised from the meadow like platforms, porticos and overhangs, balconies and terraces. White facade of the building with substantial fragments of glazing looks very fresh and modern, as well as interior design features minimalist style and clear lines.

Contemporary Concrete 9 Elmstone House in New Zealand

9 Elmstone House, designed by Daniel Marshall Architects, has recently completed in Auckland, New Zealand. The 400m2 residence was created for the modern young family, so it was important to maintain open ground for the boys to play on and to allow for a vegetable garden. Spaces are arranged vertically over three levels, each of which has its own excellent view of the green garden. In addition, the first level has a spacious outdoor terrace, while the second and third - large balconies. The main material for construction of houses was concrete. The interiors are modern and minimalist: small amount of furniture and clear contrast colors are perfectly complemented by green landscape, which you can see through the panoramic windows.
