Handmade furniture

Do you like to relax in a soft armchair after work? CROP, Italian design studio, have presented bright and extremely cozy PomPon chair. This handmade masterpiece has polyurethane structure with memory foam, covering in wool, linen and cashmere. The idea was taken from the technique of wool pompoms.  The set  consists of two elements such as donuts and pompons. So you can use them separately or together, depending on your taste. The color is subject to change depending on the availability of materials. Being a handmade product and made from scrap fabrics each piece is unique. So that you'll have convenient seating and add some originality in your interior design. Diametro 120cm, h 25/55cm

Sometimes the designer’s thought exceeds the structural limits imposed by the materials used for creating the furniture. Here is the great example, the Makemei furniture collection designed by Camiel Weijenberg and Talenia Phua Gajardo. Makemei is the union of the Chinese-Mandarin “Mei” – gorgeous, and English “Make” – do, make. And the name for it is rather suitable. The sculptural pieces of furniture will turn your home into the art gallery. It will surely draw everyone’s attention due to its unusual and creative shape. Some may seem abstract enough that you might not know what the function is at first. Have a look at the sofa “aj double chair”, designed so that two people can sit facing each other, or the “RD Table”, with its inclined surface for increased visibility of books and magazines. All the furniture is handmade.

Does this look like an old ugly oven? Well that’s not it anymore. This oven has been redesigned by students from the University of Cincinnati's DAAP design school. It doesn’t cook anymore, but it transforms to a nice and extremely comfortable lounge. It accommodates a single person and is perfect to watch TV or read the book. When closed the side drawer hides custom made cushions with cinnamon swirl pattern. Unfortunately the only existing oven lounge was sold from Etsy recently, but who stops you to take this idea and make your own unique lounge?
