Folding and Unfolding Furniture by Ying Zhang and Ida Thonsgaard
It is popular now to have furniture that can be folded as a constructor. These floor boards by Ying Zhang and Ida Thonsgaard can be easily transformed into a chair, a table or whatever else. The procedure is the same as manipulation with a paper, folding and unfolding it into different shapes. When folded, it is a common piece of furniture with a usual functionality and very lightweight. When unfolded, flat pieces of board with a help of special clips and small magnets can be joined together in any desirable length and width. Bright colors and patterns make the furniture stylish and a bit childish.

Wonderful and unique surface of wood by MammaFotogramma
Wonderful and unique fabric of wood was created and patented by Italian design firm MammaFotogramma. The name of the fantastic surface is a Woodskin that reflects the ability of material to show the dual nature. It looks like a wood and it is a wood, but at the same time it is flexible and can be molded into almost any intricate shape. The manufacture involves 'the process of excavation with a CNC cutting machine'. As a result we can see a composite mesh of small triangles. The advantage of using the Woodskin is great and most significant is the use in furniture and interior design.

The Botel for Exploring the Beautiful Surroundings of the Adriatic Sea
In almost all respects, it is a concept of an ordinary hotel; as others it is equipped with all of the expected amenities, including reservations desks, restaurant, cafe, bar, nightclub, rooftop terrace and swimming pool. The main difference is the autonomous room modules, which are equipped with solar power collectors and navigating global systems, allowing traveling around the Adriatic Sea and then return to the core structure. The main idea of Ivan Filipovic - the author of the project - is to let people to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Adriatic Sea with its thousands of islands at the same time being in different physical contexts. This kind of navigable hotels, so called 'Botels' (boat and hotel) is usually very popular for tourists, but this one with unique and extremely exciting feature will be especially alluring.

Flowers in the Sand by Yukihiro Kaneuchi
Bou-Taoshi is a Japanese game that is used as the basis of the design of the series of vases "Sand". Yukihiro Kaneuchi has designed these vases as a reflection of this game. The rules of the game are simple. The first player makes a heap of sand and places a branch of flower on the top. Then the players by turn begin to remove sand; the one who causes the flower to fall is a loser. Not only children who are interested in the sandy entertainment, but also adults. In several Japanese temples the conic shape represents where God first came in the mythological age.

'Fabbrica del vapore' Vases in Mouth Blown Glass Created by Ionna Vautrin and Guillaume Delvign
Cooperation of artists and designers always gives excellent results. This is about a series of vases 'Fabbrica del vapore' created by French designers Ionna Vautrin and Guillaume Delvigne in 2008. The vase consists of two parts - of the vase itself in mouth blown glass and of ceramic base. There is a choice of different unusual asymmetrical shapes, sizes and colors. In our opinion, a better result can be achieved by using a combination of several vases, located in the same room. The series was presented during the Milan Furniture Fair 2008 inside the exhibition “Industreal Overture”; the Wallpaper Award 2009 of the best vase was received for this work.
