Somosaguas House in the Madrid outskirts

Somosaguas House is one more large beautiful house designed by architects from A-Cero, who have been represented in our blog with their stunning masterpieces many times. As in many other homes of this company, we can see a modern, minimalist design with a facade, made of concrete and natural stone; crisp lines and volumetric construction, which seems rather heavy and massive. Clean lines and solid construction seem rather heavy and massive. The residence provides high connection with its surrounding nature, especially with water. The house stands on a small lake, but that is not all - one of the unique features of the building is a stunning large pool, which is located on the roof.

The 700 Palms Residence by Ehrlich Architects

This outstanding project, designed by specialists of Ehrlich Architects and located in California, was called 700 Palms Residence. Thanks to extensive glazing this large house seems very light and almost weightless. But sustainability was a major concern, so architects used concrete flooring to absorb the sun?s warmth in the winter, operable windows and large sliding doors to facilitate natural ventilation and low-maintenance recycled materials. Customer of the project wanted to get a modern and elegant accommodation, which would have high connection between the interior and beautiful garden. And the walls, entirely made of glass, look simply amazing, dissolving the barriers between indoors and outdoors. The facade is made of steel and it was also the wish of the owner.

Gunyah Residence by Clinton Murray Architects

Designed by the Clinton Murray Architects very unusual beach house was built just in several meters from the ocean, at an Australian beach. Gunyah Residence is like a man who sits on the beach, lowering his feet into the ocean. House was built on a sloping site, well protected from strong winds and storms by surrounding rocks. The main materials in the construction of house were wood and concrete. While concrete provides the reliability, the wood makes the house more cozy and comfortable for a pleasant holiday. Of course, the house has several open areas for spending time outdoors. So this is a great place to enjoy the beauty of nature and just relax.

Earlier another house, built in the middle of last century, was located there, but because of its age and humid climate, it has been almost completely demolished, but part of the structure served as the foundation for a new building. The architects wanted to create a light and spacious house with idea of connection to garden, water and views of the city. The house is consists of three pavilions, united by two courtyards.
