Unusual Shibafu Table by Emmanuelle Moureaux Architecture and Design

Have a look at this bright and even a bit odd Shibafu table created by Japanese based company Emmanuelle Moureaux Architecture and Design. The designer used 56 slender coloured acrylic sticks, embedded randomly into a piece of transparent acrylic which serves as the surface for the table. The sticks look refracting and reflecting light as if they were soaking under water. They appear and disappear, depending on the angle at which you view them. This table surely creates a certain bright and jolly mood. Cool and creative!

Amazing Canyon Residence in the Netherlands by 24H > Architecture

This unusual and impressive looking residence was designed by architects from 24H > architecture and is located in Leyden, The Netherlands. The house was inspired by the canyon which flows through the house. It looks very interesting outside because of the original architecture detail. The canyon allows the daylight to enter the building and to get to the lower levels. In some places it become transparent, in others it provides the inhabitants with the necessary privacy. No other walls are placed because the canyon is present in every room dividing it into different spaces. The dwelling looks rather playful and creative, doesn’t it?

Long Island Beach House by Thomas Phifer + Partners Inspired by the Waves

What can be better than to have a house on the seashore enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets and seeing the waves running to the shore? Thomas Phifer + Partners presented the project of the beach house in Long Island. It has very interesting architectural concept. The roof is curved and undulating as the waves in the sea. So this house perfectly matches the surrounding sceneries. The decor and exterior design is kept minimalistic in order to emphasize the home’s shapeliness. The space is rather subtle. Its free flowing nature embraces the landscape. As the architects say, it is a house with calligraphic flourish, writ lightly yet vibrantly in the sand.
