Branches as a handrail for your stairs
It’s great when you’re doing something yourself in your home. And I’m not talking of economy – it gives your home individuality and makes it unique. Danielle at Style-Files made these banisters of ordinary branches to add rustic feel which she claims is a general theme of her house. Of course these handrails are finished by a professional carpenter and probably would not look so great otherwise. The last picture is a handrail implementation by another internet user. Another problem that you might face when just sticking a regular piece of wood somewhere in your house is that it is very probable to have termites inside that will eventually destroy not only your handrails, but also some other wooden furniture. Such things should better be properly finished.

Contemporary house design by A-Cero: La Finca II
This house is one of 30 houses designed by A-Cero as part of the La Finca 2 residential area. Their common idea is to integrate with hilly green surrounding landscape by Casla. The area is very scenic, with neat lawn, bushes and lakes, and the house’s exterior unites seamlessly with it. This luxurious house has seven bathrooms with separate baths and dressing rooms, dining room, office, kitchen and foyer. Materials picked with no compromise to exactly fulfill the designer’s ideas in construction, confirm project’s top class and yet make it resistant to the climate of the area. The interior is just as expected - worked until the last stroke and each of its detail proves that this house is really the state of art.

World’s First Quartz Textured Surfaces by CaesarStone
Some time ago it was cool and trendy to have embossed wallpaper but that was never too practical – wallpapers can’t be washed and can’t be applied to anything but walls and the worst of all, they have seams. But now CaesarStone comes up with their Motivo™ surfaces made using new patented technology. These surfaces can be used to decorate literally everything from walls to furniture, even in the bathroom because they’re not porous and don’t get wet. One of the suggested patterns is a floral lace, which I think would look extremely cool painted to chocolate for the bedroom walls. Black Crocodile surfaces look stunningly when used as countertops – it gives a nice elegant and refined feel. Sometimes some details like laces on furniture and walls is just what your interior needs to be complete. Check out CaesarStone website to see the full variety of patterns.

Contemporary classic bathroom design by Designo Ceramica

The obvious advantage of classical or neoclassical design is that it is assured by time – such interiors were popular a 100 years ago and will still be popular after the other 100 of years. The bathroom collection by Designo Ceramica does not tries to exactly resemble the 100 year old style, but rather the representation of how we imagine classical style. So it’s more like a remake than a copy and its made with leading-edge production technologies. Soft and embracing contours retrofit contemporary life with traditional wellness concepts and stimulate new emotions and feelings. You can order this amazing collection on the Design Ceramica web site.

A Home That You Make

Sometimes when you move into a new place it does not feels that it is your home for days, or weeks, or month… Its hard to catch the moment when you stop missing your old place and start to feel relaxed. What makes you grow roots and start feeling home? Surely there are many things, but in the first place it's the interior that you create and the things that surround you.

The modest flat that you can see below is a home for a family of five artistic people, that like to create. Mother and daughter created all those nice knit things from sheets and cushions to rugs. Father of this family is a carpenter and he made most of the furniture – just take a look of this natural newspaper table made of a large slice of wood. Some of the things like the chair and floor lamp are still from Ikea, but still this home is a good proof that cozy home is not about the cost at all.

Stair design ideas for your home by Scale Nilur

Stair design is very important because it has to meet a lot of requirements. Depending on the size of your residence the staircase can have wide or narrow steps and can be steep or not. If your place is not quite as big as celebrity’s house it might be a good idea to use the space under the stairs, for example by installing shelves like we discussed in this post. But the dimensions are not the trickiest side of stair design. Poorly looking staircase can make your home look ugly as well as the professionally designed stairs can fit in and contribute to the interior seamlessly, or even become a major trait, like the following stairs by professional designer Scale Nilur.
