Robert Harvey Oshatz Project: Wilkinson Residence Treehouse

It took 7 years for this project to come to reality and it’s easy to understand why. This is probably the most unusual house that we reviewed so far. There are only few straight lines in it’s design. Dominating curves harmonize the house with the surrounding nature and some elements of steampunk make it look exotic and mysterious. The round hallway to the cylindrical lounge is in the focal point of the interior. Large panoramic windows let in the calmness of Portland forests making the house a perfect place to escape from the city bustle.

Bahia House in Brazil by Studio MK27

This eco-friendly Bahia House located in Salvador and was designed by Studio MK27. The basic idea of this project is to keep cool in the hot Brazilian climate. For this purpose designers have used traditional techniques and materials, such as clay for the roof, wooden ceilings, sliding latticed wooden panels. The building is organized around a central patio to make natural ventilation in all the spaces possible and give beautiful view in a grassed garden. This idea of home is very unusual nowadays, because there is no modern technology in Bahia House. But the result is a contemporary house, where dwellers will feel comfortable despite the hot, shiny climate.

Luxury design by A-Cero – House 10 in Madrid

We have recently reviewed the contemporary house design by A-Cero, which was built quite recently. The following house is another masterpiece by this famous Spanish studio. It refers to the end of 2008, when it was built in Madrid’s La Finca residential area along with many other unique houses, all designed by A-Cero. This huge house features sweeping light concrete exterior with sharp edges, making it look generous and even larger than it is and giving the contemporary feel. It would probably look unwelcoming and cold, if not the careful and well-thought design of the surrounding landscape and outstanding illumination, making the house shine like a gem at night. The interior complements the extraordinary architecture, at the same time providing the diversity of styles for different rooms, depending on their purpose.

Extraordinary studio apartment has a luxury bathroom with adjoining sauna, a Japanese recreational area, a fire ring, lots of palms and plants, the piano and so on. Glass ceiling allows you to organize a romantic date and look at stars at night. Now this contemporary flat offers for sale, for 3 216 400 USD. Do you want to become the owner?

Unique Coffee Pot Residence by Design Works Studios
This contemporary house combines harmony between luxury design and environmental consciousness. Designer Jimmy Brattain of Design Works Studios creates Coffee Pot Residence with objects: a 9,000 square feet and eco-friendly idea. There is a roof rainwater collection used to flush toilets and irrigate the native landscaping, double insulated doors and windows, solar panels and LED lighting in the house. The exterior and front facade plays with proportions and angles and superb use of white color. The inside is also magnificent. Designer used all kinds of decorations including marble, natural wood and colors, modern furniture and unusual chandeliers. I think you never be unhappy in the house like this.

3S Villa by LOVE Architecture

It’s popular to build houses close to nature. You can relax and have a rest from city bustle. But it doesn’t mean that house will be old-fashionable. Let us describe unique modern 3 S Villa by Love Architecture. It is located on a picturesque property on the fringes of Graz Geidorf in Austria. The architects describe the house as, “Simple yet complex; clear but also playful; light and optimistic; small yet also big. A place that is architecturally distinct, yet eminently livable; unconventional and unique, and still functional for everyday living.” The unusual roof reminds of hill and two wooden terraces create an effect of unity with nature. To my mind this contemporary 3 S Villa is wonderful place for rest and live.

Australian Architecture – House 6 by BKK Architects

This huge contemporary house is located on the semi-desert coast of Australia’s Western Port Bay. It’s driveway faces a rather concise facade with sloping porch which gives the feeling that this house was created out of a hill. But this expression changes as soon as the one steps in. Extensive inner spaces frame wonderful views of the sandy flat and the ocean to the north from the house. House interior echoes with it’s outside look, in some ways sacrificing warmth to the practicality and contemporary look. However the wooden elements of decor and the fireplace in the focal point of the house make it a little more welcoming.

Night Starry Sky on Your Bedroom’s Ceiling How To

It’s nice to fall asleep watching the stars glow, but most of the time you can’t do that, because you would have to sleep outdoors. However there are many ways to decorate the ceiling of your bedroom to make it look like a starry sky. The simplest way is to basically paint the ceiling in dark blue and draw the starts in it with glowing paint. You could also get some glowing stickers in shape of stars to escape the hard work. But there are some ways that can provide better results – for example a special photo-luminescent painting, that look transparent in the daylight and starts to glow as soon as you turn off the light. It’s absolutely safe and looks tremendous, you can find out more about this painting here. Another way is using the Star Ceiling Kit that is based on fiber optic and actually is a great night light at the same time. It’s great that it can be turned off, unlike the painted glowing ceiling.

I’ve got one more solution and it’s to use the projector, like many professional astrologists do. The best part is that it can be animated, but this is probably the most expensive way to “reach the stars”.
